Starting a clothing line? Learn 10 ways to find the perfect clothing designer for your brand. Discover how our unique approach makes the process seamless.
So you’re starting your clothing line, right? That’s awesome.

I have been around the block with this stuff, so let me give you a little advice — straight talk.
You have probably got some cool ideas sketched out, maybe even a mood board or some Pinterest inspo. But now you need someone who can bring those ideas to life. That’s where a clothing designer comes in.
Here are 10 ways you can find one — and why the way we do things at our design studio is a little different from the rest.
1. Freelance Sites (Like Upwork or Fiverr)
You can go on those sites, search for “clothing tech pack,” and find a ton of people.
Some are good. Some… not so much.
You will see folks offering full collections for 50 bucks. Feels like a good deal — until the files don’t make sense to your manufacturer, and you’ve got no support.
So yeah, be careful. Cheap isn’t always smart.
2. Instagram Designers
A lot of young designers post their work on IG. You can find some real talent there.
But again, style is one thing, experience is another. Ask them if they’ve done real tech packs or if they’ve worked with any manufacturers before.
If all they do is sketches, you’ll still be on your own.
3. LinkedIn
If you’re looking for someone with more experience, LinkedIn is a good place.
Search “fashion designer” or “apparel designer” and see who pops up. Look for people who have worked with real brands or factories.
The only thing is, they might be too busy or not doing freelance gigs.
4. Fashion Schools
Some new grads are super hungry to work on fresh brands. Fashion schools sometimes have job boards where you can post or browse talent.
It’s a good way to find someone with potential — just know they might not know the full process yet. You’ll need to guide them a bit.
5. Ask Around
If you know someone else starting a brand, just ask who they used. Word of mouth can be gold.
If someone had a good experience, that’s worth way more than reviews.
6. Agencies
There are big fashion design agencies that do everything — mood boards, sketches, tech packs, even factory sourcing sometimes.
Sounds great, right? But they charge a ton and often don’t give you the personal attention you’d get from a smaller team.
You’ll feel like just another project.
7. Fashion Events or Trade Shows
If there’s a trade show or fashion event nearby, go to it. Designers and studios show up to find clients like you.
It’s a good way to shake hands and talk in person. But if you’re not in a big city, these events don’t come around that often.
8. Google It
Honestly, just search something like “clothing designer for startup brand.” You’ll find studios (like ours 😉), freelancers, and more.
But don’t just go with the first one you find. Dig a little. See what their process looks like, and ask to see real examples.
9. Online Fashion Groups
There are Facebook groups and subreddits full of new brand owners. Most people share who they worked with, what went wrong, and what worked.
You can learn a lot just from reading. And sometimes someone will drop a great designer’s name.
10. Work with a Studio That Does It All (Like Us)
Now, let me tell you what we do — and why most brand owners like working with us.
We are not just here to draw you a t-shirt. We are here to help you through the entire thing.
So… Why Work With Us?
I have seen too many people waste money on half-done work. They get a sketch from Fiverr, then don’t know how to explain it to the factory. Sample comes out wrong, they get frustrated, and boom — the dream stalls.
We built our studio to fix that problem.
Here is how:

We Don’t Just Design, We Explain Stuff
We will walk you through it, step by step. No big words, no industry jargon. Just real talk.
You’ve got an idea? Cool. We will help you shape it, design it, build the tech pack, and even show you how to talk to the factory.
We Give You the Files Factories Want
A lot of designers send you nice-looking pictures. But factories need more than that.
They need measurements, stitch types, trims, fabric codes — all in a tech pack that makes sense.
We do that. Clean, clear, factory-ready.
We Point You to the Right Factory
We are not a factory, but we work with a bunch of them. So when your design is ready, we don’t leave you hanging.
We will connect you with trusted factories based on your budget and order size. Small runs, custom work, we know who can handle it.
We Actually Care
Sounds cheesy (!) but it’s true.
We care if your brand works. We want to see your stuff on shelves, in stores, or selling out online. So if a sample comes back weird, we help you figure it out.
We don’t ghost you after the design’s done.
Is It Worth Paying a Bit More?
Honestly? Yes.
Sure, you can find someone for $100 to draw your collection. But when things go wrong — and they often do — you’re alone.
With us, you’ve got backup.
You’ve got real help.
You’ve got peace of mind.
